Lynbrook sixth-grader wins Reflections ‘Diversity’ contest

Koby Lazar, a sixth grader at South Middle School, was selected as a Nassau County regional winner in the Musical Composition category of the National PTA Reflections Program. The theme of the competition this year was “Diversity.”

Koby’s winning composition, written for oboe, marimbas and wind chimes, is titled “Diverse Inspiration.” As a winner at the regional level, Koby will be moving on to the state level of judging, and has been invited by the New York State PTA to attend a reception in April.

The National PTA Reflections Program is one of the largest student arts recognition programs in the nation. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students participate throughout the country. Only the top ten percent of entries make it to the county level.
