My pet gets very anxious during external load noises. Is there anything I can do?

Nowadays there are many things that can be done to help your pet be more comfortable during holidays such as July 4th or New Years Eve when fireworks are going off. Before considering any medication, there are things that can be done in the home such as providing a quiet room away from the noise as well a product called the Thundershirt. Both of these ideas have varying results but have had some success with different patients.

Before starting any medication you should contact your veterinarian and discuss what medication is best for your pet. There are some over the counter medications that are helpful but should never be used without a conversation with your veterinarian first. If your pet’s clinical symptoms warrant it, your veterinarian may even prescribe medications.
