Post Commander Joseph J. McCarthy pointed out that post members have expessed an interest in communicating their concerns to area political representatives in the hope of making these leaders aware veterans’ needs. “High taxes, combined with the presently high cost of living and poor economy has put an unusually heavy strain on many veterans,” he said.
East Rockaway area officials who would like to hear directly from veterans about their interests and needs have been asked to call to call the post at (516) 8870 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. weekdays prior to the monthly meeting.
