Lynbrook held its annual Patriots Day event Sunday in Greis Park. Members of the Lynbrook American Legion Post 335 kicked off the festivities by displaying the country's colors. Elected officials including Mayor Bill Hendrick and State Sen. Todd Kaminsky were on hand, and there was fun for the whole family.
On Memorial Day, Lynbrook held its annual parade and had ceremonies throughout the day, including an event where Hendrick and the Lynbrook Fire Department laid a wreath in honor of those who gave their lives in service.
East Rockaway's Memorial Day parade was washed out, but the village held a special ceremony in remembrance of those who lost their lives defending their country at the East Rockaway Junior-Senior High School.
