Snow and rain make for a messy weekend across the South Shore

Posted

A mix of snow and rain caused hazardous driving conditions early on Saturday morning.

Roughly two inches of snow fell across the South Shore and five across the North Shore. Temperatures hovered right around the freezing mark at mid-morning. The snow was expected to change over to all-rain by the afternoon, with a high of 40 degrees Fahrenheit, leading to melting, according to the National Weather Service.

Still, icy conditions were predicted to persist throughout the weekend, so weather officials were urging caution while driving.
