Partly Cloudy Spirits shine bright at Lynbrook, East Rockaway holiday celebrations

Santa Claus paid a visit to Lynbrook on Sunday and spent time with Mayor Alan Beach, far right, and his family.

The villages of Lynbrook and East Rockaway celebrated festive holiday gatherings last week.
Lynbrook lit the menorah on Nov. 30 and then the Christmas tree on Sunday.
“We had a really nice showing,” Mayor Alan Beach said. “It was a nice crowd.” He added that he was particularly impressed with the singing performance of the students from Temple Am Echad.
Santa visited Atlantic Avenue at 5 p.m. Festivities included a Christmas tree lighting ceremony, performances and the blessing of the Creche.
East Rockaway hosted its Hanukkah celebration with a menorah lighting on Dec. 2 at Village Hall and lit the tree on Dec. 3.
