Spooky Scarecrows
Old Westbury Gardens welcomes Halloween with special day of activities, involving scarecrows, “bad seeds” and a masked march. Gather in the Scarecrow Garden for refreshments and fun. Take an eco-horror tour to learn about our fascination with the scary side of nature. Arrive early to watch “celebrity” pumpkin carvers in action. Halloween costumes are welcomed and encouraged.

Ghostly Delights
Theodore Roosevelt Sanctuary and Audubon Center shares in the Halloween spirit this weekend with pumpkin carving and storytelling. Visitors can spend some time with some of the Sanctuary’s “spooky” animals, carve jack-o-lanterns and tell stories around a campfire. Costumes are optional (but encouraged.

Jonathon Larson’s award-winning musical is back for a final weekend at Hoftra University. This production features a vibrant cast of Hofstra student actors, including East Rockaway’s Michael Quadrino. Don’t miss Saturday’s special concert with Anthony Rapp, one of the original stars of the show. Rapp and his band will perform songs from the musical, along with other selections, at 4 p.m.
