Survey for parents and East Rockaway residents

Posted

This past year the East Rockaway Board of Education set a goal to complete a baseline survey gauging parent/community satisfaction as it relates to academics, athletics, extra-curricular activities, budget, and technology, as well as parent/community participation in our schools.

The survey for this goal has been developed through a partnership with St. John’s University. The survey should take no more than twenty minutes to complete. If you prefer to respond on paper, copies will be available in the main office of each of the three schools — Centre and Rhame avenue elementary schools and the high school. Paper surveys may be returned to the schools or mailed directly to: Mark D. Terjesen, Ph.D., Associate Professor, St. John’s University, 8000 Utopia Parkway, Marillac Hall SB36, Jamaica, NY 11439. Submit only one survey per household. All responses will be kept confidential.

“The results of the survey will be shared with the community and will be used to help achieve objectives set forth by the Board of Education to strengthen the schools and the programs that are offered to students, families and the East Rockaway community,” said School Superintendent, Dr. Roseanne Melucci. “Your input is greatly appreciated.”

This survey will be available from Monday, May 9, 2011 until Wednesday, June 1. If you have any questions about the survey, call Melucci’s office at 887-8300 ext. 523.

“Thank you in advance for your participation,” Melucci added. “I look forward to using the results so that we may continue to provide the best possible educational experiences for the children of East Rockaway.”
