Teachers teach parents at Gotham Avenue

Parents of students at Gotham Avenue School received information on how to utilize academic websites and tools to assist their children with reading and vocabulary at a recent parent workshop.

Offered as part of the school’s Parent Education Program, the workshop gave parents of students enrolled in ESL, special education and academic intervention services an opportunity to have a first-hand look at what their children are learning at school and provided information on how to help them succeed. According to Assistant Principal Michelle Richards, the focus of the program was to support academic growth outside of school.

“We want to empower our parents so they can continue the work learned in the classroom at home,” Richards said.
