Two bodies were discovered at 171 Sussex Road in Elmont on Monday night after police responded to a call from a resident who smelled gas coming from the home.

The Nassau County Police Department's Homicide Squad received the call at 6:33 p.m. and found no gas leak when they arrived.

However, during the investigation two bodies were discovered in the home with gunshot wounds. The victims have been identified as 46-year-old, Karan Rodgers-Dennis and 58-year-old, Audley Dennis. The couple was pronounced dead at 7 p.m. on Jan. 28. The investigation is ongoing.
