The 25th annual Bellmore Family Street Festival will kick off with a carnival on Sept. 15 and run through Sept. 18. More than 120,000 people are expected to attend, making this mega-event one of the largest street festivals in Nassau County.

The festivities will begin on Thursday evening with an array of carnival rides and game booths in the midway. On Friday evening the rides will continue, and the show mobile in the Long Island Rail Road parking lot off Pettit Avenue in the midway will offer entertainment.

On Saturday and Sunday, the entire festival will come to life, with a number of expos providing a little bit of something for everyone. The kids expo will feature the “I Believe In Dragons and Faerie Tales” show, with a dragon egg hatching. There will also be a portable bowling lane, a hands-on exhibit from the Cradle of Aviation Museum, and crafts such as cookie decorating and jewelry making.
