While operating her 2008 Nissan Sentra westbound on Hempstead Turnpike at Terrace Avenue in Elmont on June 7, around 10:25 a.m., a Centereach woman struck two utility poles, causing her vehicle to go airborne and land on a 2008 Honda Civic owned by National Grid.

Upon further investigation by the Nassau County Police Department’s 5th Precinct, Kelley Westoff, 23, who was driving a 2008 Nissan Sentra, was arrested on charges of Driving While Intoxicated/Drugs. Police stated that Westoff will be arraigned “as soon as practical.”

The driver of the Honda, a 56-year-old man, did not require immediate medical attention, according to detectives from the 5th Precinct. Westoff, however, was transported to Winthrop Hospital, where she was admitted for treatment of her injuries.
