Now that her learning facility has been open for two months, Yi Su is more intrigued with FasTracKids than ever. Parents are truly excited, as their children — ages three through seven — just did their first videotaped presentations. Youngsters get to speak through a microphone to present knowledge, in their own words, that they have acquired from their classes. They invariably include a higher level of vocabulary, which they’ve learned in class.

When Su first saw 3- and 4-year-olds in China doing presentations in front of audiences, she was amazed and tried to find something similar here. FasTracKids existed in New York City but not on Long Island. Wanting her own children to benefit from such a fine early childhood education, she began to study the company, its programs, and its unique way of teaching.

Through FasTracKids she also learned about JEI — academic enrichment programs for pre-k through ninth grade. She was impressed by their computerized diagnostic testing. The JEI system evaluates the results and pinpoints the child’s weak areas and strengths. The system then generates a workbook to let the student strengthen his or her skills.

This knowledge prompted Su to purchase two franchises — FasTracKids and JEI — and to combine them under one roof in Bellmore. Each operation is about children, education and innovation. Both can be found in many countries, so can be modified to meet the needs of the surrounding area.

FasTracKids is a signature program for ages three through seven, meeting once a week for two hours. Subjects include Communication, Biology, Technology and How Things Work, Goals and Life Lessons, Natural and Earth Sciences, Creativity, Astronomy, Literature, Speech, Economics, Drama and Art.
