The work of five student-artists from H. Frank Carey High School was featured in the U.S. Rep. Anthony D’Esposito’s Congressional District 4 art showcase at Island Park Library on May 3.

This event was an annual competition held by the Congressional Institute, which is a non-profit that educates the public about Congress.

Each year, the House of Representatives hosts an art competition for students. And each year the winner is invited to Washington to see their art on display in the Cannon Tunnel, which connects the Cannon House Office Building to the Capitol building.

The showcase included 80 pieces of artists’ work from within the district. The Carey students represented were Adrianna Barragan, Lili Duggan, Arwa Moid, Alyssa Osso and Megan Wong.
