The Elmont Fire Department was alerted of a house fire at 275 Emily Ave. in Elmont on May 7, at 7:03 p.m. Elmont Chief Mike Capoziello said the fire, which had fully engulfed the second floor of the home, was venting itself out a second floor window at the rear of the home.

The fire was extinguished by the Elmont Fire Department, which was on scene within four minutes of the home’s fire alarm going off. The homeowners were home at the time the fire occurred, but no one was injured.

Capoziello said the fire was most likely an electrical fire, and the fire department does not suspect the involvement of foul play.
