Fifth and 6th grade students from Stewart Manor, Covert Avenue, Clara H. Carlson and Alden Terrace schools will be attending the exhibit and play on Friday, Jan. 21.

The Jackie Robinson exhibit and play are part of “Pride & Passion: The African-American Baseball Experience,” an Elmont Memorial Library event inspired by Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month.

“Pride & Passion” is a national traveling exhibition highlighting the history of baseball’s Negro leagues, and the challenges and successes of African-American baseball players. The exhibit will be held at the Elmont Memorial Library until Feb. 16.
