A fire that began in the basement damaged a Parkhurst Road home in Elmont on July 4, Nassau police said.
Elmont Fire Department firefighters responded and extinguished the blaze. No inuries were reported, police said.
The Nassau County Fire Marshal and the county police department's Arson Bomb Squad also responded and are investigating the cause of the fire.
