Photos: Franklin Square community observes Memorial Day with annual parade

The Franklin Square community came together on May 29 for the annual Memorial Day Parade to honor and pay tribute to not only the fallen heroes from back home, but around the country.
Hundreds marched in the VFW Post 2718 sponsored event organized by the Community League of Garden City South, including several local organizations such as the Franklin Square Boy Scout Troop 93, the Franklin Square Civic Association, the Twelve Apostles Council #5001 and more.
Following the parade, a memorial service was held at the Veterans Memorial Statue at Rath Park on Naple Avenue.
