Mostly Cloudy Lighting up the night in Elmont

The Elmont Chamber of Commerce hosted its Paul J. Muscarella Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m., at Veterans Square in Elmont — located on the corner of Hempstead Turnpike and Covert Avenue.
In addition to band and dance performances by local groups, the Gotham Avenue School’s sixth-grade select chorus performed holiday songs at the event. Following the ceremony, residents visited with Santa at the Covert Avenue School, and enjoyed hot chocolate and candy canes.
