Remembering the legacy of MLK Jr.

Two assemblies were held at the Gotham Avenue School in Elmont on Feb. 3 to celebrate the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to improve the life of all Americans.

An annual tradition for the past several years, the two-part event — an assembly for younger students, and another afterward for upper-class students — includes a song related to Dr. King's work, which is sung by all Gotham Avenue students.
