Celebrating ‘Tapestry’
It’s hard to believe that Carole King’s landmark 1971 album, “Tapestry,” marks its 40th anniversary this year. The next-generation of women singer-songwriters – including Brittany Ann, Vanessa Reddin, Anna Dagmar, and Natalie Acciani – commemorate this musical milestone with a special concert. They’ll perform the complete Tapestry album individually and collectively, along with their Carole King-influenced originals. The program will feature such classics as “It’s Too Late,” “I Feel the Earth Move,” “So Far Away,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow,” and of course, “You’ve Got a Friend.”
Friday, Oct. 14, 8:30 p.m. (with pre-show open mic at 7:30 p.m.). $15, $17 at door. Garden Stage at Unitarian Universalist Church of Central Nassau, 223 Stewart Ave., Garden City. (516) 248-8891 or www.GardenStage.com.
