Elmont community enjoys Thanksgiving dinner together

More than 300 neighbors got together for a community Thanksgiving dinner on Nov. 18 at Elmont Memorial High School.

The event was put together by Universal Interactions, a nonprofit organization based in the community, which has hosted events throughout the community to promote unity since 2022. It was founded by brothers Christiano Marcello and Antonio Marcello with Fenol LaRock, three alumni of Elmont Memorial High School Class of 2020.

The three hope to continue this community dinner in years going forward as a staple tradition in the community, especially for those in need.

Neighbors enjoyed music played by a DJ at the event and the dinner was a success, according to Christiano Marcello. Food for the event was catered by Guggins Café in Elmont.
