Elmont, Sewanhaka students participate in holiday play

Covert Avenue School students were treated on Dec. 6 to a holiday production of “Naughty and Nice,” a play written and directed by Sewanhaka High School Student Council representatives Katrina Simon, Rory O’Reilly, Jayralin Herrera and Christopher Rothwell.

First- and second-grade students from the Covert Avenue, Clara H. Carlson and Stewart Manor schools were selected by their teachers to perform, singing songs and acting out stories, including the Grinch, the Abominable Snowman and Ebenezer Scrooge kidnapping Santa Claus. The play was directed by Student Council advisor Daniel Tesoro, and students rehearsed for the performance from Nov. 18 to Dec. 5.
