Neighbors of the Elmont community trotted into the next holidays on Nov. 26 at Elmont Memorial High School.

Volunteers Rose-Kella Seide, 12th grade, Kaitlyn London, 11th grade, Jomei Leitch, 11th grade, Elmont Parent Teacher Student Association Vice President Renée Williams and Rotchild Riche, 12th grade, gave out snacks and refreshments to everyone at the turkey trot.

Neighbors came out to trot off last week’s holiday and gear up for the next festivities of December during a turkey trot on Nov. 26.
Residents walked or jogged laps at the Elmont Memorial High School track last Sunday. The trot was a 5k fun run or walk, so everyone was able to go at their own pace.
The Elmont Memorial Parent Teacher Student Association hosted the event for the community. Parent teacher student association members paid $15 to register and non-members paid $20 to register.
Prizes were given out for costumes and those who attended got donuts and hot cocoa.
