Girl Scouts’ Big Backyard Sale a success

The West Hempstead/Franklin Square Girl Scouts Association hosted its third annual Big Backyard Sale on Oct. 1 at Rath Park in Franklin Square, to benefit individual troops and their local community service projects.

Hundreds of people showed up throughout the day to rummage through various items and crafts. The sale brought Troop 1131 one step closer to receiving the Silver Award.
