North Homecoming week full of spirit

Posted

Homecoming is a chance for the whole school, even parents and teachers, to get together and enjoy the high school experience.

The excitement at Valley Stream North High School started with Spirit Week when every day was a different theme for the students and teachers to get themselves excited for the Homecoming game at week’s end. There was twin day, Disney character day, green and white day, and pajama day.

The pep rally, which took place last Thursday, is when members of the varsity sport teams, such as football, soccer, tennis and volleyball, introduce themselves and perform an entertaining skit. Also, both the junior varsity cheerleading squad and kickline — the Rangerettes — performed dances. On Friday, the Homecoming dance took place where the king, Joe Cafaro, and queen, Emily Alcott, were announced. All these fun events led up to the Homecoming game on Oct. 13 against the Clarke Rams from the East Meadow School District. The North Spartans varsity football team defeated the Rams 26-0.

The whole week was filled with thrill and school spirit and a great way to start off the year for the Spartans.
