Police respond to shots fired in Elmont

Nassau police report reported a shooting on Jan. 5 at 4:55 a.m. in Elmont where no injuries occurred.

Officers responded to a Shot Spotter call on Baylis Avenue in the vicinity of Parkway Drive Friday morning. They interviewed a 50-year-old male victim, who said he heard five loud gunfire sounds. Four 9mm shell casings were recovered in the roadway by police. The investigation is ongoing.
