'Real life' unfolds on stage at Nassau Community College

The Wreckin’ Ball
Explore the changes one family in particular, and a community in general, endures when their inner city neighborhood is slated for urban renewal, in this two act, eight character play presented by Nassau Community College’s Department of Theatre and Dance. Written by Celeste Bedford Walker, the play dramatizes real life situations occurring all across the country as people attempt to cope with the loss of something they once held to be permanent.

It Had To Be You

Plaza Theatrical Productions brings a bit of Broadway to Bellmore, when the theater company presents the charming musical “It Had to Be You,” for a brief two-show run. This delightful comedy is about Theda Blau, a failed actress, and Vito Pignoli, a hugely successful television commercial director. She manages to convince him to be her partner in this quick-paced comedy.

The Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie
The Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie, led by conductor and pianist Philippe Entremont, visits Tilles Center this weekend. The program features Strauss’ Till Eulenspiegels lustige Streiche, Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 1 and the Symphony No. 4 of Brahms. One of Germany’s most popular concert orchestras, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie’s refined sound and extraordinary musical Interpretations have garnered international acclaim.
