The Broad Hollow Theatre Company recently performed “Guys and Dolls” at the Broad Hollow Theatre in the Elmont Public Library. The show was staged from July 21 to Aug. 5. The famous Broadway musical was first performed in the 1950s with music and lyrics by Frank Loesser and the story line by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows.

The play tells the tale of a gambling ring in New York City that includes Nathan Detroit and Sky Masterson. Both men find love and proceed to lose it as the play progresses.

The play has been performed around the world and has seen many revivals. It is well known for songs like “A Bushel and a Peck,” “Luck Be a Lady” and “I’ve Never Been in Love Before.”
