Trail Hike
Join the Friends of Norman Levy Preserve on a spectacular hike to the 125-foot “peak” of the planned Meadowbrook Parkway Trail, sponsored by the Long Island Greenbelt Trail Conference. You can see for miles, including the NYC skyline, with birds and wildlife galore. Bring a camera or binoculars for magnificent views from this sunny oasis. Children 10 and older welcome.

“Autumn Color” Walk
Take in the vibrant colors and delicate scents of wildflowers during a guided nature walk through Muttontown Preserve. Observe fall’s beauty with the help of an experienced guide, while strolling along paths and fields. See the season’s flowers and birds that remain in the preserve’s woodlands and meadows.

Afiara String Quartet
Enjoy exquisite chamber music when the Afiara String Quartet performs in the historic Gold Coast mansion Coe Hall. Winner of the 2008 Concert Artists Guild International Competition, the Afiara String Quartet has been praised as “a terrifically unified, versatile, and moving ensemble” with a “powerful, keen-edged collective sound” (San Francisco Classical Voice). This all-Canadian group – featuring violinists Valerie Li and Yuri Cho, David Samuel on viola and cellist Adrian Fung – has been named The Juilliard School’s new graduate resident string quartet beginning in 2009-10, including a Lincoln Center recital in May 2010.
