Freeport administrators, faculty, and parents gathered on Dec. 14 in the Freeport High School gymnasium to witness the Navy Junior ROTC’s annual inspection and Battalion Parade.

Superintendent of Schools Kishore Kuncham addressed the cadets and others who were attendance prior to the inspection. “I am truly honored to be with a such an amazing group of leaders. This program means so much to me and I am proud of your discipline, courage and intelligence,” said Kuncham. “I am continually impressed by the cadets and their commitment and dedication becoming leaders, problem-solvers and always acting at peak performance.”

Commander Christian Gaskill led the company of 190 cadets through their drills and inspection requirements in front of Navy Commander and NJROTC Area Four Manager Jimmie Miller. The battalion successfully completed their yearly inspection with outstanding scores on all elements of the examination.

Commander Miller closed the event by telling the cadets how proud he is of their hard work and how well they exemplify the Navy JROTC ideals of honor, courage and commitment.
