Another accident on Austin Boulevard

Another Austin Boulevard accident sent a motorcyclist to the hospital over the weekend. Island Park Fire Chief Ed Madden reported Nassau County Police transported an unidentified male motorcycle driver to South Nassau Communities hospital with a possible broken ankle. There were two unidentified passengers in the vehicle; both refused medical assistance. The accident occurred around four p.m. on June 14.

Witnesses said the vehicle appeared to be making a legal U turn from the southbound lane to the northbound lane of Austin Blvd at Empire Boulevard, when the motorcyclist hit the vehicle on the passenger side.
