Island Park-based EmPower Solar was honored by Vision Long Island at the group’s 11th Annual Smart Growth Awards on June 15.
CEO David Schieren was at the ceremony to accept the award, the Clean Energy award, along with a handful of EmPower employees.
EmPower was founded in 2003. Since then, it has become an advocate of renewable energy on Long Island, installing solar panels on residences and businesses. It has also been an advisor to the Town of Hempstead and worked on projects in the town’s Renewable Energy Park in Point Lookout.
