Island Park schools on two-hour delay because of flooding

Street flooding forced the Island Park School District to delay the start of classes by two hours on Thursday, as flooding rains drenched much of the South Shore early in the morning. 

Here's what the district posted on its Twitter page:

"Island Park Public Schools is on a 2-hour delay this morning due to flash flooding. We will reassess the situation and provide an update by 9:30 AM."

The delay applies for both in-person and remote learning students.

At 9:45 a.m., the district made the following announcement: "Blue Team students should report to school at 10:30. Gold Team and Remote Only students should check their teacher’s Google Classroom for additional scheduling details. Gold Team and Remote Only students should log on at 10:30."
