Though they will attend either West Hempstead or Long Beach high schools, the Island Park school district wanted its children to know that it will always be their home district.
The district held its annual commencement ceremony for the outgoing eighth graders in the Lincoln Orens Middle School auditorium on June 20.
The sweltering heat couldn’t stop the celebration. Not only were students awarded their diplomas, but many were also honored for their achievements with awards, presented by different groups from the community.
As the soon-to-be ninth graders get ready to move on to high school, they’ll always know they have a home in Island Park.
