Oceanside schools celebrate brand new playgrounds

Both Oceanside School six and School four celebrated ribbon cutting ceremonies at their respective playgrounds last week, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity for all children. The School six kindergarten playground, next to the school’s main entrance, incorporates musical instruments and pretend play areas, all at ground level.

Meanwhile at School four, principal Jaclyn Graham unveiled a new communication board at her school’s playground, with symbols and pictures that children can point at to communicate. The project was funded by donations from families and staff for last year’s autism walk. The district’s buildings and grounds department gave the communication board a beautiful stand that they built and installed.
