‘Pippin’ has its season in Island Park

Last weekend, students in the Island Park Lincoln Orens Middle School Theatre Group presented the classic Broadway play “Pippin.” Set in the Middle Ages, the story focuses on a young French prince as he searches for meaning and significance in his life.

The cast kept the audience clapping with pleasure with a variety of songs and choreographed dances. The play featured several outstanding performances in lead roles, including Mikayla Cangemi as the Leading Player, Justin Hugues as Pippin, Dara Hoff as Berthe, Mary Zarba as Catherine, Melody Melian as Charlemagne, Hannah Lerner as Fastrada, Thomas Marsden as Lews and Marissa Feminella as Thea.

The show was directed by Lynde Rosario and choreographed by Jillian Deni. The technical/construction director was Chris Jahn, technical/lighting coordinator was Linda Rusnak, and the costumes were designed by Elizabeth Peckham.
