Thanks to Oceanside High School Sailors

To the Editor:

I would like to personally thank Coach Rob Blount for what he and the wonderful Ocean-side Sailors have done for Oceanside.

Being an Oceanside resident my entire life, graduating from Oceanside High School and having owned Farmer Joel’s for 20 years, I have never seen such a sense of community.

In the mornings at Farmer Joel’s, there was always a buzz around the coffee station about the games played, the players and the coach.

On weekends we had the game time and location posted at the register. I, who was never interested in football, found myself becoming more and more interested. I began texting my husband while he was at the games for the score.

I would also like to say that the Sailors are the greatest bunch of boys. They are respectful, polite and humble.

I am very proud of the job Coach Blount and the boys did. I hope they hold their heads up high, for they and Coach Blount have done an unbelievable job, not just in football, but in bringing this community together.
