When thinking of a country club, one generally assumes that a single membership covers all. Such is not the case with Lawrence Village Country Club, which is comprised of three separate facilities. The Golf Club, Tennis Club and the Village Marina are each run independently. Membership is available to both Lawrence residents and non-residents.

While the country club is owned and governed by the Village of Lawrence, its mayor, Board of Trustees and Park Commission are supportive, allowing management to run each facility independently as they see fit. According to General Manager Frank Argento, who has helped the club evolve over the past 26 years, its renovations and improvements are top of the line.

The Golf Club features an 18-hole course built on flat terrain with narrow, tree-lined fairways. Four of the holes are offset by picturesque waterfront views of Reynolds Channel and Bannister Creek. And, since the course is close to the Atlantic Ocean, frequent sea breezes keep it comfortable during the summer. Lockers, showers, steam rooms, a Pro Shop, club storage rooms and a snack bar are available to members.

No sponsorship is necessary. A full-time golf professional is always on hand for tournaments and instruction. Recently re-designed is a state-of-the-art driving range. Weather permitting, golfing takes place from March through January.
Nine beautifully maintained outdoor Har-Tru tennis courts are open to members of the Men's and Women's Tennis Clubs. Tennis is directed by USTA professional, Mark Harrison, who has ranked #1 on the East Coast for 55-and-over singles. He is also available for lessons. Leagues, tournaments and social gatherings are all part of the Tennis Club agenda. Tennis is available from May through October.

The Lawrence Marina maintains 135 slips available for rental. The slips, which house boats from 20- to 85-feet, are located inside a protected natural cove, which is part of Bannister Creek. Boaters can enjoy social events such as barbeques. One needn't be a member of any other club to rent a slip.

The Village Club House serves as a recreation facility for permit holders. Inside are a restaurant and catering hall that are also open to the public.

Its beautiful ballroom, which can accommodate up to 300 people, is the perfect venue for any function. Both kosher and non-kosher catering is available. Mezza on the Green is a wonderful restaurant for an evening meal, a festive luncheon and, in warmer weather, outside dining.
