The effort is among a number of initiatives that the coalition has organized recently to create awareness about alcohol use among minors. In September, it released a video produced by Long Beach High School peer leaders aimed at opening residents’ eyes to the subtle ways that alcohol use is portrayed to kids. Also that month, the coalition and the Long Beach Police Department sponsored a two-day seminar at the Allegria Hotel led by the Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center, a national organization that provides training to help communities in their efforts to enforce underage drinking laws.
