Santos Floral Designs, at 124-128 East Park Avenue, piled sanbags in front of their business. The city gave out 20,000 sandbags to residents and depleted its supply.

Residents with non-life threatening emergencies should dial 1 (888) 684-4274 for assistance with down trees and roadside issues. All those with life threatening emergencies should dial 911. For more information on storm preparation, please visit www.nassaucountyny.gov/hurricane or Ed Mangano, on Facebook and Twitter.

As always, in case of an emergency, residents are advised to immediately dial 911. In Long Beach, the city has established a non-emergency Storm Hotline, (516) 431-1000 option 1.

Residents can also check the city’s website at www.longbeachyny.gov for a copy of the city's Storm Preparedness Guide and updates (residents can also check the city's Facebook and Twitter pages for more information). The city will also be updating residents through its Swift911 notification system.
