Coat collectors give to Haitians

Since October 2009, the Lions Club of Long Beach has conducted an ongoing coat drive that, to date, has collected and distributed 1,000 coats. The recipients are the Long Beach Soup Kitchen, Martin Luther King Jr. Center, St. Mary’s Church Outreach and the people of Haiti. Coats were collected and given to Lion Allen Schwartz, left, and his wife, Lisa, owners of Laurel Cleaners, who had all the coats cleaned before distribution.
