County cancels activities, cautions of icy roads

All Monday afternoon activities at the Nassau County Aquatic Center and the ice rinks of Cantiague, Christopher Morley and Grant parks have been canceled because of the winter weather, the county announced shortly after 3 p.m.

County Department of Public Works crews are currently treating roadways with salt and sand to reduce ice, according to a county news release. County Executive Ed Mangano urged residents to drive cautiously or stay off the roads if possible.
