The circus is coming and the streets will be rumbling. The arrival of Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey’s latest circus extravaganza at Nassau Coliseum is celebrated with a parade of sorts, as the world-famous elephants march from their circus train past the front doors of Long Island Children’s Museum to their temporary home here, on Monday, March 14.

LICM, along with co-sponsor Herald Community Newspapers, welcomes the circus entourage with a special night at the museum. The doors will open at 6 p.m., for three hours of family fun as everyone awaits the arrival of the elephants.

Families are encouraged to dress up as a favorite circus performer and come on over to the museum to enjoy circus-themed activities. Ringling Bros. clowns will be on hand to get the night started in true circus style. All sorts of activities follow. Be sure to decorate a circus derby hat to wear when everyone moves outside to await the arrival of those special guests.

Tickets are $8 ($6 members) and on sale now, at the museum. Long Island Children’s Museum, Museum Row, Garden City. (516) 224-5802.
