Acquired Riches: Highlights From The Hofstra University Museum Collection

An exhibit celebrating Hofstra University's 75th anniversary, highlights the artists, genres, and cultures represented in the Hofstra University Museum collection. On view are paintings by Karel Appel, Edwin Dickinson, Conrad Felixmüller, Paul Gauguin, George Grosz, Johan Barthold Jongkind, and Joan Mitchell; works on paper by Jean Charlot, Arthur Bowen Davies, James Rosenquist, and Georges Rouault; photographs by Donna Ferrato, Ralph Gibson, Danny Lyon, August Sander and Andy Warhol; and works of art from Africa, China, Japan, Mexico, and Oceania. Displaced Persons Camps: Rebuilding Culture And Community In The Aftermath Of World War II

“For Us The Living” – The Civil War In Paintings
The sights, feelings and drama of the Civil War are portrayed in an exhibit of paintings by Mort Künstler, considered to be the leading contemporary painter of Civil War scenes.
