Long Beach inmate killed in fight at County jail

A Long Beach inmate at the Nassau County Correctional Center in East Meadow was killed on Jan. 7 after getting into a fight with another prisoner, according to Nassau County Police.

According to police, Antwan Brown, 26, of Long Beach, became involved in a physical confrontation with a fellow inmate at 6:45 a.m. Brown suffered several contusions and was later transported by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other prisoner, whose name has not been released, is currently in custody.  Homicide detectives are investigating the incident.
