Long Beach lights up for Christmas and Hanukkah

Long Beach hosted its annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony on Dec. 13 at Kennedy Plaza, where trees were adorned with white lights, and sweets and drinks were provided to children and adults who turned out for the bright and beautiful event. The People’s Church Choir sang Christmas carols in celebration of the holiday season which can be seen across the community through holiday decorations and designs.

On Monday, the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce held its festive tree lighting and Menorah lighting ceremony at Edwards Boulevard and Park Avenue in recognition of Christmas and Hanukkah. The following day, on Tuesday, the Bach Jewish Center hosted its Kennedy Plaza Menorah lighting with music and food. Members of the center joined city officials for a joyous celebration, with live music and dancing, and children from the center sang Hanukkah songs with those in attendance.
