A Long Beach man was arrested on Thursday in connection with a string of burglaries-spanning more than five months-involving various houses of worship across Long Beach.

According to a press release issued Friday, Terrence Farr, 44, of East Hudson Street, was arrested on Dec. 8 in connection with 10 burglaries. Police said that beginning in July up until December, Farr allegedly committed burglaries at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Cruzada Evangelica Misioner, the Friedberg Jewish Community Center Nursery School, the New Life Church of Christ, the Bach Jewish Center and the New Life Church of Christ Disciples of Christ.

According to police, several of those congregations were burglarized more than once.

"The proceeds of these burglaries were typically cash and items made of precious or semi-precious metals," said Long Beach Police Sergeant Richard DePalma. "Our detectives conducted a thorough investigation that included surveillance at some of the locations. Based on this and other evidence, Long Beach Police Detectives arrested Mr. Farr."

Farr was arraigned Friday in Long Beach City Court by Judge Frank Dikranis. He is being held at the Nassau County Correction Facility on $10,000 bail.

Police also announced Friday that members of the department will hold a special informational meeting with local clergy leaders regarding the recent burglary pattern on Dec. 13. Long Beach Police Inspector John Radin and Detective Lt. James Canner will host the meeting.
