Long Beach schools closed Wednesday

Long Beach Public Schools will be closed Wednesday, Jan. 22. All classes, transportation and after-school and evening activities are canceled.

As of 10 p.m. Tuesday night, The National Weather Service reported 10.5 inches of snow in Lido Beach, and the Weather Channel is currently reporting a total of 13 inches of snow for Long Beach. A winter storm warning remains in effect for the barrier island until 9 a.m. Wednesday, warning residents of a tough morning commute with hazardous driving and walking conditions.
