Detectives at the Long Beach Police Department are investigating a robbery in which the suspect wielded a knife and took money from a business in Long Beach on Jan. 5.

According to the LBPD, a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and teal-colored bandanna walked into the Dairy Barn at 375 W. Park Ave., pulled a knife on the clerk, demanded money and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male in his 20s, about 5 feet 7 with a medium build.

“The investigation is ongoing, and detectives have a person of interest who they are looking at,” said Lt. Bruce Meyer, a Police Department spokesman.

Meyer noted that police are also examining a possible connection between the suspect and another person who they said stole a pack of cigarettes from the Dairy Barn three days earlier, on Jan. 2. Meyer did not give a description of that suspect.
